The Right to Bare Arms

Apparently Susan G. Komen corp thinks this means the right to bear arms.  The ultimate pink-washing giant and now anti-women supporter corporation ,… and seriously…I can’t make this stuff up…. just announced an affiliation with Discount Gun Sales and is producing a …wait for it….. PINK HANDGUN….   full article.

** ok, I’m going to continue to rant & rave, but it is of questionable accuracy…. meaning, it cannot be substantiated and Komen has not responded… but here goes.. **

Just when you think you might forgive them for their last mis-step because they reversed the decision, they shoot themselves in the foot.

Isn’t this what you’ve always wanted?  A pink handgun?  If you can’t get your mammography thru Planned Parenthood anymore and get breast cancer, then you can buy this little gem and just shoot yourself!

ok, this is way too easy… I’m not that good with words, but somehow, having this on the market to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness month is beyond ridiculous.  Really, what is wrong with these people??

Perhaps the thought was that if you bought this and contributed to their coffers, (and you have breast cancer), then maybe shooting yourself in the leg would be a great distraction from the side effects of chemo & radiation…oh, wait… women having these treatments have a depressed immune system, so it would just get infected and you’d die anyway…but at least it would be before the cancer got ya…..

This is way too sick for even me to enjoy….pink washers and dryers and toaster..ugh…milk of magnesia all over the place…but unless you play with the electrical system, they can’t kill you… guns?  Are you freakin kidding me??  And THIS is how you support helping women fight breast cancer?

Update as of 2/5/12:

Susan G Komen says they are not affilliated with the store and the promotion – however….. it appears they are from an informal framework:

“Discount Gun Sales is proud to team up with the Susan B. Koman [sic] Foundation to offer the Walther P-22 Hope Edition in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A portion of each P-22 Hope Edition will be donated to the Seattle Branch of the Susan G. Komen Foundation,” read the description on the gun seller’s website. “The P-22 Hope Edition has an exclusive DuraCoat Pink slide in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Utilizing the same reliable controls and firing mechanism that has made the Walther P-22 America’s top selling handgun, the Hope Edition will be a limited production pistol offered exclusively through Discount Gun Sales.”

Scotty, beam me up….
